On July 4, 2017, investigators from the New Canaan Police Department received a report from a Wakeman Road resident who had been burglarized, with the estimated value of items taken at $80,000.
On April 3 last year, the investigation into the burglary by the New Canaan Police Investigative Section was contacted when several items taken during the burglary were located on eBay and were being sold from a pawn shop in Fall River, Massachusetts.
According to police, investigators traveled to the pawn shop in Massachusetts and identified the alleged burglar as Fall River resident Joshua Schneider, 32, who was incarcerated for a different offense.
Police in Massachusetts instructed that they would notify the New Canaan Police Department when Schneider was to be released.
